If Your Life Is a Carbon Copy, It Leaves No Mark
You can be weird.
You can be unique.
You can pursue a dream or a goal that suits no one but you.
The advice at the time was to gather up popular keywords and jam-pack them into my blogs. I am no luddite, but I was not keen to give up something I’m passionate about just to chase trends and win clicks. In fact, the whole reason I created the KindEdge Steps to help people achieve big life change was because I had consumed all the other content out there and none of it worked in real life.
Every Other Program Needs a Fictionally Perfect Day
Every other method or program out there relies upon some sort of fiction. In order for their programs to work, you would have to be living a fictionally-perfect day, or be negotiating with a fictionally-reasonable spouse, or be working for a fictionally-flexible employer or be fitting tasks into a fictionally-predictable schedule.
Real life just doesn’t work that way. In addition, even on the rare perfect day, nothing out there offered tools to deal with the very real but invisible barriers that act as landmines to blow up any perfect plan.
So I had to dig in and create my own program, just for myself. And finally, I found a system that worked. For many years I tested and refined these “doable steps.” I built concepts and tools that can be used in real time in real life to keep progress in motion.
This all became KindEdge and, unfortunately, it is a program that looks like nothing else out there. It sticks out like a sore thumb. The gods of internet SEO did not approve. They instead pressured me to morph all my unique, funky, quirky language into “blah blah blah” just to get clicks.
The SEO advice I was getting did not feel right in my gut. So I ignored those rules and wrote things my own way, the same way I had actually shared these concepts with friends who were asking me to share the steps so they could apply them to their own goals for change.
The Higher Purpose Filter
Here’s one tip that will help you right now, today. When you feel pressured to do something that does not fit what you feel in your gut, all you need to do is run that question through your higher purpose filter. We create this in KindEdge Step 13.

When you have absolute clarity on your bespoke higher purpose, every decision becomes easy. When I feel pressure, but it’s rubbing me the wrong way, it is my clarity around my higher purpose that makes my choices black-and-white easy.
I KNOW MY HIGHER PURPOSE AND I LIVE BY IT
I filter every choice and decision with this question:
If I die tomorrow, did my choices today deliver on my higher purpose?
If I were to dilute my KindEdge message just to please SEO and make my work sound like all the other trending guru inspo content out there, then I would die having left no mark here on Earth. I’d be an SEO-optimized dead carbon copy of everyone else.

Dreaming Doesn't Work. Action Does.
Instead, I use my own words. And I communicate concepts that are a bit unusual. It seems contrarian to say that, while I want you to achieve your dreams, the last thing I’m going to advise you to do is to dream. But this is the truth. I’ve tested it and dreaming doesn’t work. What works is starting with KindEdge Step 1 wherein you take real action for 15 minutes every day for 28 days without letting that chain get broken.
And KindEdge Steps 2-10 carry that momentum forward so that within a year your life has changed and you are living out your dream in real life.
Every other guru out there will tell you they have the path to achieve your dreams. However, in reality, they get you inspired but leave you hanging because they don’t give you the real and practical tools you need to pile drive through the barriers in your real life.
I’m the opposite. I’m not here to get you hyped up. I trust that you already know what you want. You know that thing you’ve been dreaming of: that new business, new career, new creative endeavor, new athletic achievement, or completely new life.
I’m not going to encourage you to dream about it. I’m here to encourage you to take action, but to do it in the realistic, achievable daily steps that actually add up to massive transformational change by the end of the year.
How did all my truthful authenticity end up with SEO?
Back then, I knew that for all my truthful, quirky, unusual, contrarian perspective sharing, I would inevitably be punished by the interwebs for not conforming to SEO optimization dictates. Nevertheless I followed my gut. And I’m glad I did. Today, I am reaping the rewards for being willing to stand out. The evolving dominance of AI-based LLMs as search engines, along with changes to Google’s algorithm, is now giving preference to unique, quirky sites like mine.
Takeaways for you:
- You are the source. The funky, quirky things in you are a gift to this world. Invest your time in those special things within you. Share them and make that your life’s work.
- Get clear on your higher purpose so that when the world pressures you to conform, you have the easy-button on hand to filter out the noise.
- Know that how out-of-the-box your dream is, it is worthy of a full-forced try at making it real, and a sustainable way of living from now until you die.
Thank you for being on this journey with me. Here’s to you unlocking the alternate ending to your life.
Cheers, cin-cin and hugs.
