KindEdge is about unlocking the alternate ending to you life. In your future there is a better application of your gifts, your skills and your passions, Today it remains frozen in your mind, tapped by the responsibilities of your current life that keep you perpetually in motion.
As the minutes left in your life count down, NOT changing these patterns locks you into danger: the danger of never achieving that better life you imagine.
Forget inspiring guru self-help books. Watch out for unproductive woo-woo. And silence any self-care that is simply training you to better-endure the bad. Get to the good – today.
KindEdge is a series of bite-sized actionable steps you can squeeze into the gaps of every day. Each task is another decision that secures yet one more plank on the bridge you are building to your alternate ending. You can take action TODAY to enable the ideas in your head to become visible IN REAL LIFE. The minute you get these thoughts in motion, you will feel relief and an you will be buoyed by a new energy. You do not need to quit your job or fail all your existing commitments to get your future in motion today.
THE PROBLEM: There is a large, scary abyss that lies between where you are today and your end-goal. It’s not safe to leap and drop all the balls in the air.
THE SOLUTION: I’m building guides that simplify the steps for change into clear, bite-sized tasks. Each task builds one more plank on the massive bridge that will soon carry you to that alternate ending in your life.
I built these for myself on paper worksheets over many years. I had to make each task easy enough to complete in a hospital emergency room lobby at midnight (think: busy single mom + sports injuries!). Instead of letting my kids’ emergencies derail me, I simply planned for “what truly works in the real world.” No day was perfect. But I could pretty much bank on having 15 minutes wherein I was stuck somewhere–be that in an emergency room, in a pharmacy queue, in a commute delay, or on-hold with a 1-800 number. If in those gaps I could accomplish ONE task that moves me forward–securing just one next decision and placing one next step or meeting onto my calendar–I’m no longer a victim to life’s chaos. I’m a champion. I’m a hero writing my hero’s tale.
I’m now on a mission to publish every guide and worksheet I built for myself as an online worksheet for others to use here in KindEdge.com. After achieving my own transformational changes, I realized all the little steps I’d built for myself represent one massive repeatable process. These KindEdge tools will guide anyone from beginning to end of any massive change. KindEdge.com is my passion project designed to make transformational change easy and achievable for everyone.
BUILDING A BRIDGE ONE PLANK AT A TIME IS THE RIGHT SOLUTION:
- You can experiment, learn and adjust your approach by taking ONE step at a time.
- You limit risks by making iterative changes without changing too much at once. Two steps forward, one-step back to safely modify, and refine the plan.
- You are forced to focus on only one step at a time and see it get completed–or not–in real life. The IN REAL LIFE part reveals the many real but invisible barriers that have previously halted your progress.
For example, say you have grand plans to get a new education and take on a new profession. You’ve been beating yourself up for years because you keep failing; for some reason you have not completed the requisite college application paperwork. How will you ever go back to school if you don’t even apply? With KindEdge we’ll narrow the college application task down to ONE visible, trackable step: go alone to a library for one hour on five consecutive days. Guess what you’ll get VISIBILITY into that you could not before see? You’ll see in your focused VISIBLE tracking sheet that of the five evenings you’d PLANNED to spend on you college application, your nanny was late on three evenings. You now VISIBLY see that your first step to build that bridge to your new career has NOTHING to do with a college application. Your first step is to fire the nanny and build a support infrastructure that you can trust.
This and thousands of other examples are the types of realities we unveil by getting our goals in motion IN REAL LIFE.
STEP 1: The “In Real Life“ notebook that takes up space and acts as a visible reminder every day.
ALL THE STEPS: The master checklist
The master checklist offers all the steps in the KindEdge process. (I’m building these in my spare time; you can donate if you wish to buy me a little more time.) You can do these step in the order listed, but as this is the PROJECT OF YOU you are welcome to skip around and grab the tasks that energize your mind or fit the energy you have today.
